Default isuhunter's 2016 Garden Thread - pics

Well I started my garden around the early part of May. I wasn't able to start seeds inside this year because of a basement remodel we were doing. Next year!

Here is what is planted so far:

Beets
radishes - 3 kinds
Walla Walla onions
Carrots
Green Beans
Celery (not sure why, impulse buy)
7 egg plants (not sure why so many, Ichiban & Millionaire
Cucumers (Marketmore 76, Burpless)
Romaine Lettuce
Kale
4 Brussel Sprouts
4 Kohlarabi
Tabasco Pepper
Super Cayenne Pepper
Habenero Pepper
2 Jalapeno peppers

7 - Big Beef Tomatoes
1 - super sweet 100 cherry tomato
1 - sunsugar cherry tomato
1 - Brandywine Red
2 - Brandy Boy
1 - Mr. Stripey (might replace with another yellow)
1- Cherokee Purple

I want to find a Wes tomato plant.

Here is a picture from last night after we finished mowing and mulching.

Also this is pre the rabbit or deer making an appearance and eating the tops of the Romain lettuce off.

Sounds really good - except the deer or rabbit part.

Lettuce seems to be the favorite food for rabbits around here too. We have a 4' tall 2"x4" field fence around our garden and rabbits or something would always eat our lettuce. I think the only way we could grow lettuce here would be in a container with a rabbit wire cage around it.

They have been relentless. I've added a few more barriers.
