I read the Dwarf forum quite often -- I think it's so neat that full-sized tomatoes can grow on such small tomato plants.
Is there a source for dwarf tomato seeds? I don't guess I've really seen any before in my shopping online.

Hi there - glad you were reading in that forum, it is an interesting project.
There are a few pretty good heirloom dwarfs that are available - New Big Dwarf is the largest fruited, but Dwarf Stone has good size as well - Victory and others sell each of those. Smaller fruited but still good are Dwarf Champion, Golden Dwarf champion and Lime Green Salad. As for the creations coming out of the Dwarf project, we are probably 1-2 years away from commercial availability, as they are for the most part still somewhat unstable works in progress.

I purchased seeds from Tatiana's tomatobase for this spring.
http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/T...tainer_Growers She has quite a few seeds for dwarf varities. I am growing citron compact this year in an Earth Tainer. It is a cute little plant. I haven't grown a dwarf before and this year am doing lime green salad, Tiny Tim, Citron Compact and Costal Pride orange. Really looking forward to the Dwarf projects seeds when they are commercially available. Kat |
