She cooks at least one meal a week with ghost peppers and eats habaneros or similar as a snack. Serranos are too mild for her. Her uncle is the same way.

Comparing serranos to ghost peppers is like comparing a grape to a D11 Cat dozer.

Actually I'm comparing serranos to habaneros, 50k scovilles for the former and 200k scovilles for the latter. From habaneros to ghost peppers is a similar jump: 200k to 1M scovilles.

Sorry for the confusion.

Many years ago my Dad bought what was supposed to be a flat of pimento plants. They turned out to be Hot Bananas instead. Never wanting to waste anything, he decided to can them for use in his soup beans and hot stew.
My job was to slit them and remove most of the seeds before packing them into pint jars.

This happened when I was about 8 years old, and I still remember how my hands burned! This was our first experience with "hot" peppers, and neither I nor my Dad knew any better at the time.

Today, I like hot peppers, but still respect what they can do. A little heat can go a long way, and when they "burn at both ends", y'all may have gone too far.........

Before I was even in school my mother would make herself and I Jalapeno peppers and butter on toast.

Later I would come home from school and have a hot pepper and jelly sandwich.

What I am trying to say is I have eaten hot peppers all of my life.
But too much is too much, it becomes showing off.

I too have eaten hot peppers all my life because I like them. I am not out to prove anything to anyone. I eat them because I like them. When you get to the superhots I dont like them anymore. I agree that too much is too much. If you have to force yourself to eat them then where is the enjoyment??Yes I am an old fart and have nothing to prove and I enjoy life to the fullest. JMHO

I can't wait, it should be fun seeing the look on Kc's face when he eats the infamous trinidad scorp. I might have a few of my staff join in on the fun too. I was thinking Jim/Shane and possibly Nick. That and I'm sure the contest will be a big hit.

My guardian said yes to doing it so all is great.

Before everyone gets upset with Heirloom Grad you need to read the beginning posts in this thread.
http://tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=30567

I've seen nothing posted that is inconsistent with it.

Autism is not an excuse for social misbehaviour, and certainly not reckless endangerment. Even children that don't know right from wrong will respond favourably when given proper social stimulus. The responses I see appear less autistic, and more sociopathic than I care to deal with.

Charlie

P.S. I found out how to ignore.
