Your favorite cherries from last season
Hi All,
Wondering what you loved and will grow again in regard to your cherry tomatoes. Some of my favorite are: Sweet Treats - pink and so delicious. It is my new number one fav. Orange Paruche - looks like a Sungold but tastes even better. Yes, I said that. Sunchocola - has all the deep richness of a full size black tomato in cherry form. Green Doctors Froasted - It never is very productive along the coast but I grow it anyway because it is so delicious. I prefer the frosted by far. A must try. Chika - red cherry. Small plant good for container. Delicious sweet yet old fashion tomato taste. A winner for sure. Tell me your 5 most grow cherries. Thank you! Karma |

Your first 3 are my favorites and I grow them every year for our personal uses and giving to neighbors. Sungold, Black Cherry, Matt's Wild Cherry. We also grow one just called Yellow Cherry (which is very good) and some cocktails. Last edited by Country Breeze; January 16, 2019 at 06:13 PM. |

5 cherry plants would take up my whole backyard, not that it would be a problem... So, how does everyone keep them from splitting. I run out before each rain storm and pick clean everything remotely yellow. I can hear the bells ringing and the birds singing when we have a few days without a cloudburst and I get to eat a rich orange nugget of goodlyness. But when angry clouds are churning around, I have to share with the bugs the next day. Sungold is my lunch when I'm out in my remote garden. - Lisa |

Galina. Still the best after so many years. It's basically the only cherry I still grow.

I loved Orange Paruche too. Cereza Amarilla was wonderful.
Pink Tiger, and other Artisan ones, are among favorites. I should have chosen more cherry varieties for my list last year - they seemed to thrive despite the crazy heat wave, whereas so many delicious slicers and hearts came to a screeching halt..
