See, I don't think that is cheating. I think of it as resourceful planning.
I didn't try to overwinter anything this year, and I regret it. Last year I had my first fruits in March. |

I've gotten drainage problems with MG, Jiffy, and homemade potting soils, so I order the Black Gold online and pick it up from the hardware store. Seems to work well so far. I feed every 7-10 days with good old-fashioned Schultz's all-purpose. I should have some Tumbling Tom Juniors ripening soon, too! Last edited by HudsonValley; January 31, 2018 at 06:12 PM. Reason: "Tiny Time" is not a tomato variety... |

These KBX vines were planted in August last year. I let them set as much fruit as possible then let them hang out as long as it doesn't freeze hard in my unheated greenhouse. The weather this year has been just barely not too cold for this. Got down to minus 2 one night, most nights in the teens and days in the forties.
The fruit just hangs on the vine and slowly ripens over months, doesn't seem to want to spoil while hanging. Sorry about the aphids! Cleaned everything out today and will do a little spray in there for them. |

Tryno, the kbx stayed real nice and juicy. I too, in the past have had tough ones and the skin gets real leathery too, but not these!

Berryman, is it the growing season or the KBX cultivar?
