Default Garden Layout Questions- second guessing at the last minute!

The garden design I've planned on using has trellised cucumbers in the row next to the tomatoes.

This design seems good in that it could offer up some shade to the tomatoes/ the surrounding ground (my climate gets very hot in summer... We frequent days near 100).
My concern is, with the way my garden is situated, this trellis will cut down on airflow too much. The trellis is on the south side of the tomatoes, and this is the direction of our summer prevailing winds. Granted, we don't have much wind at all in summer, but is this an issue worth changing my garden over?

What do you guys think? Does airflow take enough precedent so as to change things up? I can post photos of my garden blue print if needed

I think it will be ok as long as you will be leaving enough space between the plants.

I think the cucumbers need to go on the north side of the tomatoes.
On the south side you are trying to grow your tomatoes on the north side of a wall.
Those darn cucumbers can climb really high.
How tall will the trellis be?

I very well may move the cucumbers far far away. Trellis is about 6.5-7' tall
