I saw this while in Australia in 2010. Tessa introduced me to them in Perth. Saw allot of them in Freemantle, Melbourne, Tyers, Launceston, Bundaberg, Sydney and Newcastle....not as much in Hobart....or south of Launceston....and not that many in Launceston that I remember.
I'm not even going to mention the common name, since it sounds racist and don't want to stir up a hornets nest about it. What I'm looking for is the botanical name. I understand that they can be 50 to 100 years old for every foot of height. Or is my memory screwing up on me? Would love to learn more about them. Thanks for all help on this. Zana |

I remember you mentioning how slow they grew, Tessa. They're amazing.....I was just looking at allot of the photos I took of them in other places in Oz...plus the pics you sent me.
Thanks. Zana |

I got some seeds for this years ago, then after reading how slow they grow, threw them out, lol.

If I had only know about this plant when I was a kid....sighhhhhhhh. Anything I planted would be in its infancy in my lifetime.
