Just curious if any of you ever taken Tomatillo cuttings successfully?
Also is it true you need more than 1 plant for it to produce fruit? And if that is true, would a cutting work? Thanks. |

From experience it does take 2. I had only one in my garden once and the only thing it produced all season long was one tomatillo. I think it pollinated at the nursery. The crazy thing was when I went back and told the nursery owner that I needed 2 he stated he did not know that..Hmmm.
I do not know about taking cuttings. Have not tried it before. I am sure others will know better ![]() Kat |

Yea, I find it interesting to say the least being they are so closely related to tomatoes

Last summer we had only one tomatillo and we still got quite many fruits. So maybe it can pollinate itself

should be able to pollinate itself since the flowers have both male and female parts in one flower.

The following site says that tomatillos can indeed be propagated using stem cuttings of established plants.
