Default What Would Cause This?

This is a ripe Green Zebra. There were two ripe fruits growing beside each other. One looked and tasted pretty good. Here is a picture of the second one. There are no signs of a bug digging into it. It looked just like the other tomato. I'm curious as to why it is black colored like that?

I read somewhere that BER can happen inside the fruit occasionally. Looks fine outside, black & leathery inside. Could that be what happened here?

Wormgirl, I will look that up early tomorrow morning. Getting sleepy tonight and today is one of those days I don't remember my own name. Wow, BER on the inside. It would make since with all the rain we got in May.

If you have read Craig's book you may have seen it in there. He discusses it.
