Thanks guys.
I always get half eaten strawberries still on the plant, which is really annoying because the strawberry was so perfect earlier. No ripe ones yet this year, but it some are big enough to turn red soon. Fingers crossed!The netting is just tule (sp?) from a craft store. I stuck sticks in the soil around my strawberry bed, and simply draped the tule over the sticks. It's really easy, but I'm not sure yet how well it works. When I get a ripe tomato, I'll know. Taryn

I have one row, about 60' long. I had some problem with slugs abut 3 weeks ago but some slug bait took care of them. I've been getting ripe berries for a week now, can't believe how sweet they are.
I use pine straw (needles) for a mulch and it works great! I haven't had a problem with critters eating mine. Take some pics when they ripen. Good luck! |
