Default Field's variety

Anyone know anything about an old
Field's variety called "The Redhead"?
Wondering if it existed or ???

Yes, it does, but I've not grown it out. I got it out of the USDA in 1999 - I may have some seeds left, let me know if you would like to give it a try.

Funilly enough there is also a Russian tomato variety called Zlatovlaska (which can be translated as Redhead)!

Here I'm, Michael. Yes, sowing time + recovering one of our greenhouses after heavy snowfall in February + hard times at my work - shareholders don't want to support us anymore and start selling our company... Very unclear prospects for this working year...

I'd love to try it Craig. It was in Field's Seed Sense Catalog Vol. 5 No. 11 Feb 1918 on eBay and it was described in the information by Field's as "The Redhead - A New Tomato That Is Different and Better", the catalog "Printed And Published In The Private Printshop Of The Henry Field Seed Co., Shenandoah, Iowa". I missed buying the catalog as eBay had some problems last night and a lot of bids were lost.
I did manage to buy a couple of other nice 1920's
seed catalogs today though just to have something to read
