Yesterday's Harvest - Mud&Buckets Farm
Here's what I got yesterday. About 1 1/2 bushels on the counter, another 3 gallons of dwarfs, and about 2/3 gallon of various cherries. Now, if the heat will back off for a few days, maybe I can get some more blooms and fruit set.
The Sungold/Volunteer picture shows fruit from a plant derived from Sungold F1 seeds, and a volunteer plant that came up in the middle of the garden. It makes me wonder about seed of the volunteer and that it might grow true. The taste is absolutely the same. I tried a blind test on my neice and she couldn't tell any difference. I can't tell any difference. I guess I need to save some seeds and plant them next year. Anyhow y'all enjoy the pictures. I gotta go harvest okra.

If that volunteer is as good as you say it is and can get it stablized, you would be a much loved tomato gardener. Well, ok more loved that you already are .

I'll get a pix of the plant tomorrow and add to this thread. It should have some more ripe fruit by now.
Later, y'all

Ted said his volunteer was from a Sungold F1 plant. Keith Mueller has what he calls Sun Lucky which is from an initial cross between Sungold F1 and Lucky cross, selections made and folks still working on it. WHich I mention since you had Sun Luck written above. Another OP derivative of Sungold F1 is the variety that Lee G, who posts here, has developed called Ambrosia, which you'll see on my growout list. Lee N in NC who with two others helps me with seed production got a red fruited not Ambrosia which Lee G says is Ok to distribute seeds for b'c it tastes pretty darn good, but Craig, who is growing quite a few of my varieties from plants left over after he delivered mine to me, has the correct Ambrosia, and looking out the window the other day I saw a plant with a truss of small yellow ones starting which can only be Ambrosia, so it looks like I have the right one as well. So another OP Sungold to taste as well.

DigginDog just made it up on the spot as a suggestion for being Ted being so lucky to have such a good tasting offspring from the Sungold F1. Remy

Yes, Remy, I realize that but it sure made me sit up and be more alert. And then I read Darrel's thread in the better tasting hybrids thread and there he was talking about the same Lucky Sun that I had just posted about in this thread.
