Ron, a pleasure to view (even sideways) your pics. So, what are those vines anyway? I could always guess, but it wouldn't hurt to know for certain.

Yes, they are Santa Sweets which seeds came to me from Kygreg(thanks). One of those plants produced a yellow Cherry that had no flavor but was beautiful. It was very productive but alas no flavor. I pulled it up and replaced with a Black Krim that is setting fruit now and looking very good. The other Santa Sweets are producing the correct fruit with good to excellent flavor.
One thing I did do differently on all Cherry tomatoes was pruned off all stems that were not suckers. I let all suckers grow and fruit and the results are spectacular. I dont think this would work on larger tomatoes but may try on a few and see what happens. My friends are starting to avoid me because I am giving them more than they can consume. I am eating 8 or 10 a day now and my bloodsugar has fallen below 100. This happened last year also. My doctor doesnt understand it either but said to just go with it and be happy. He did say to slow down on BLTs but that probably isnt going to happen anytime soon. best to all ron |

Very nice. So you've found the holy grail to long life and happiness in your cherry tomatoes -- a gift from sweet Santa. Nice.

Those look so great!
I'm having the opposite experience this year. Again. Sigh. I'm trying to live vicariously through those of you who are doing well, but I can't quite get that little sick feeling out of my heart. So much work, from seed to plant, just to watch them die. Maybe next year. |
