Default Domolite Lime question

When adding lime to a 5 gallon bucket for tomatoes do you mix it in with your mixture prior to putting in your plant or do you add it to your soil after it is in your 5 gallon bucket where you dug a spot out for your plant? I have read both methods for this but not sure if one way is better than the other.

I prefer to mix the lime in proir to planting but the other way is fine too. Sometimes people completely forget to add it and throw lime on top of the soil and scratch it in.

Thanks for the reply I think I will mix it all in before I plant that way it is well distributed prior to planting.
