Default Question on Seedling demise (Indian Stripe)

I should have taken a picture before I chucked them but I had 2/6 Indian Stripe germinate this year and both seemed healthy until they just stopped growing even though all the other varieties were growing fine and got quite leggy. The seemed to be sort of wilty looking and some of the lower branches would drie up and fall off then I noticed the stem had a whiteish color to it on one side and on one of the leaf branches so I ended up chucking them and picked up a Black krim plant for a replacement.

My question is this dampening off? Could it be a problem in the seed it self? I would not want to get to next year and try and start some more of the same seeds and have the same thing next year?

The symptoms you describe are not those of Damping Off disease and without seeing some pictures it's hard to know what might be going on except for the wilting and stunted growth.

And when ever that happens to me I get rid of the plants ASAP assuming it could one of several viruses that were seedborne.

I was the person who introduced Indian Stripe and I think I have a few seeds left, so if you PM me with you address I'll send you a few for next year.

Not a general offer folks b'c I really am very low on seeds for this variety. Sorry.

May I ask what the source of your Indian Stripe seeds was?
