Rootstock varieties?

Hello peoples,

I have heard that Tommy Toe is suitable as a rootstock, is this correct?

I have grafted other types of plants in the past so thought i should probably have a try at tomatoes too, just wondering if i needed to look elsewhere for particular varieties or if Tommy Toe will suffice? (As i already have Tommy Toe seeds)

Have had best success with Maxifort rootstock seed.This year's experiment is with Super Strong Rootstock, #2911 from Tomato Growers Supply in Florida. Their website is www.tomatogrowers.com.

In your garden, does Tommy Toe resist diseases and/or produce stronger plants than other varieties? If so, try it as a rootstock. If not, I'm not sure it would help your other plants.

If you're grafting just for fun and exploration, experiment and have fun with it.

If you're grafting because of soil diseases, then look for specific rootstock that was developed to resist whatever disease(s) your soil has.

I use DRO141TX that resists V and F wilts. Others who battle F and/or Bacterial Wilts use RST-04-106-T.
