Default Daylily oddity (variagated)

Has anybody ever seen this before. Part of my daylily plant is variagated. It looks really cool. I've had this same plant in the same spot for a couple of years and this is the first time this has happened. What would cause this and will it continue to do this in future years? I can't remember the variety - maybe "Bruce", but I'll have to check sometime. Here is the link to a photo: ] http://image58.webshots.com/758/6/32...3AuZdLA_ph.jpg

I've never seen anything like it, but I agree ... it's very cool!

Hi,
Variegation in daylily foliage happens one in awhile. Sometimes it is stable, sometimes not. There are a few cultivars with stable variegation that are fairly popular. Variegated parts of plants are usually not as vigorous as their normal green counterparts. I would dig and separate the plant to give the variegated part a better chance of growing larger and coming back next year.
