I hear Ya, cheap eats ain't cheap no more unless you find a deal/sale.
I can't get it all the time, for some reason the local store doesn't carry it as a normal item. The meat is always on a rotation and when they have it I have to stock up.

BUT, I'll never eat the dog food fake burgers that are being pushed. FOR REAL, it's dog food with more more chemicals to make it taste good, check me on this if anyone doesn't believe me.

I love this app, click the link.

Lately I've been grabbing a pack of ramen noodles and adding stuff to it for a quick fix. I like to add thin sliced veg like carrots, celery, onion, garlic and a handful of peas to the water so it all cooks while the water's coming to a boil. Then add the noodles and seasoning packet and swirl an egg in there too. When the noodles are done I'll splash in some soy and sesame sauces and some chopped up kimchee. It's about like a stew when I'm finished with it especially if there's any left over chicken or burger in the reefer. Cheap eats!

Anacondas $1 a pound? I've never heard of HEB before joining this board but we need one here!

Man, Rajun, my tongue's slapping my brains out just lookin' at that plate! Now I gotta mop up the drool off my keyboard.

Rob, very good looking tacos.

I had read about the fake burgers before, but I went ahead and read it again. I remember feeling sort of nauseous the first time reading it, but then it started making sense. Reading it again tonight made me realize the shock-factor is gone for me. After all, they are taking non-meat ingredients and trying to replicate the taste of meat.

It's not Soylent Green - yet.

I accidentally got a fake soy burger at work in Alaska one time.
It was the nastiest thing I have ever put in my mouth ever.

Always on the quest for a good meatloaf I am trying something new I dreamed up just now.
Ground chuck.
Bread crumbs.
Garlic powder.
Salt.
Fresh ground black pepper.
Oregano.
Paprika.
Two eggs.
V/8 juice but HEB brand.
Mixed up and placed in the small Wagoner cast iron skillet.
Baking at 350F.
We shall see.

Waiting for it to cool down to 100 F from 160F.
Potato salad will be the side because that is what I have.
For some odd reason meatloaf sounds really good.
