I wanted to show how I propagate Tomatoes. I use this for my weird Tomato. I get an adult plant in a few weeks. Anyone else use this? If so what are your experiences?

I can't quite tell what is going on in your photos, but is it something like this? http://www.tomatoville.com/showthrea...hlight=rooting
I've never tried it personally because my season is too short for a second crop, but looks like a great idea. Too bad dcarch is no longer around, he used to have great ideas for almost everything, including mouth watering presentations of restaurant worthy tomato dishes. ![]()

Yes, the white lines in the picture are roots.

Neat idea. I have thought about cloning, if I find a very expensive variety that I like. Some modern hybrids cost as much as $1 per seed.
To my knowledge, there are no tomatoes under patent, at least commercially available varieties, so cloning is perfectly legal. |

I like cloning because I get to skip the seed stage. I also have a variety that cannot be propagated by seed.
