Does anyone else get a fair number of stuck seed coats on the super quick germinators on a heating source? I seem to have more than usual this year....Not the type that loosen with moisture, but the type that envelop the entire head like cement...Didn't know if I should suspect the seeds or the heat....Only had one square of seeds due this....

Nice video Craig. I think it prudent to do a complete thread on the different methods used to grow seed tomato. I don't think everyone realizes that they can do these invasive grows just to get enough seed for stock.... small containers, massive selective pruning...
It was a very intriguing video for me. Thanks |

Started my tomato and tomatillo seeds Saturday afternoon...this morning, all but 2 of the 100 cells I dense planted had seedlings in them. I took them off the heat mat and put them under the lights. Very fast germination!

My cosmos and zinnia seeds sprouted in 36 hours, and by 38 hours the cosmos are an inch high. Good heavens! Used Craig's method again - it is magical. I find that the warm water for initial watering greatly speeds up germination.

Heat mats
Craig: do you have heat mats under all your trays on the desks at this point?
