Tom,
Your garlic is beautiful. But, you live in a beautiful place with wonderful people, community, music and dancing! PLUS, you have something we don't ....SOIL.

Yes Floyd VA is a slice of heaven! Took these pictures the other day - part of my garden is visible to the left in the rainbow shot, and the other photo is local musician friends jamming and dancing in our yard.

I have serious garlic envy! Temperatures down to -7C where I am, a crisp sunny 3C today and the soil was frozen down to about 3" and some area's too hard to even break the soil! My garlic is well tucked up under a mulch of wood chips and the volunteers are about 4" out of the ground.

You're nearly in Antarctica in the dead of winter! Jackhammer farming?

Wouldn't mind a cool breeze sent N. Not sure now pictures of snow would go down..

Despair not. The sun will come.

not quite Antarctica, only 45s 168e today's overcast but been beautiful blue skies most days. Got snow forecast day after tomorrow which I'm looking forward too, the cooler weather kills all the bugs. Last winter was mild and wet and we had issues with rust, rot and other unwelcome diseases in our garlic.
