I tried a sonic repeller for rats. Did not work.

Thanks for all the replies and saving me $ by not buying the ultrasonic product that doesn't work.

I ended up putting tulle around the bottom of cages that had ripening tomatoes and so far so good.

I bought an ultra-sonic mosquito repelling device many years ago. I think it actually attracted mosquitos. They would land on it and hang out.

I think my rats must have thought they'd found a disco with the dual speakers on the expensive unit I bought.

I once had one years ago and my dog at that time suddenly refused to set foot in a certain part of the garden. We couldn't figure it out at first, then realized it must be the ultrasonic device. We turned it off and she immediately went in. She was very sensitive to sounds, that one.
