Does anyone know where I can get some? Is there a variety that looks like Black Beauty but it's green?
I looked around and only came up with Apple Green and Little Green Eggplant but both of those are small. |

I have Thai Long Green. As the name implies, it is long and not oblong, but you are welcome to the seeds. I didn't care for it, but you are a lot better cook than me, maybe you would like it.

Thanks Cole but I'm looking for the Louisiana oblong. The store I'm selling plants to asked for some but I can't find seeds. I just messaged a guy about 60 miles from me that had some years ago. I talked to my Aunt and she brought me a pill bottle about half full of seeds but can't remember how long they've been in the fridge.
I'll find out if they sprout in a few days hopefully. |

I received some Louisiana Oval Green in a swap; they're dated 2017. I planted 2 seeds and have 4 left, if you want them PM me. Mine haven't germinated yet and I can't tell you anything about the variety.

The seeds from my Aunt sprouted and the plants are growing healthy. I snapped a few pics this morning and it won't be long before I start eating some. I have 12 plants going to save seeds to spread around before this variety disappears.

way cool. I have never seen that variety. it is a beauty. it would look great in a market basket mixed with black beauty. I might have to ask for some seeds just to try it for the market.
how do they taste? anybody eat them yet?

I haven't eaten any yet but I'll do a comparison to Black Beauty since I have those going too.
I'll post here when I have seeds so stay tuned for updates.

That is a beautiful eggplant. Will be following closely as I would like to grow this one.
So glad you found the seed to keep it going. |

I have seen such things for sale at the market. Not like the ones in your pictures though, which seem striped with white, but pure green (average green, not too light or dark). They were quite big, by the size 6-700 grams. Maybe I'll buy some this year. I always thought they must be some hybrid since that's what people at the market usually sell (they are 95% resellers of stuff from bigger farms so no point in asking them what variety).

It's one of our favorites-grow it every year.
