Default Sad Sac

This is a grow out with a twist.

When I heard that Big Zac wasn't going to be available in 2006 the idea occurred that we could have some fun and try a community grow out.
It was one of these ideas where you put about 2 minutes of thought into and see where it leads.

The twist is that it is also a largest tomato contest.

At the end of the season, the person who grew the largest Sad Sac will be responsible for saving seeds from that tomato so we can continue this next year.

The only rule to remember is not to take it too seriously

Having the edit feature here at Tville will come in handy as I will be able to update peoples entries and keep them up here at the top for all to see.

Leader Board

Mine sprouted today...kind of hard to make out, look for the tiny white (n) shaped thing just right of center.

I started most of my maters on Wednesday. Going to start my giants in April in hopes of taking some to pumpkin weigh offs. Sad Sac will be started then. Don't worry about this ol' boy gettin' a late start "slow and steady wins the race!" LOL I wish everyone the best of luck. I plan on playing the entire Little Feat "Waiting for Columbus" CD (with the mater lady in the hammock on the cover) in continuous rotation for my seedlings.

well bully,
i am proud to say my sad sac is towering over all other seedlings.

i have 3 varieties i am attempting to grow out.
2 are black heart shaped,...and sad sac, ...they are growing in the same flat...all together.

i have decided this is no accident,.. so later this week when i plant them out...they will stay together till the end. they are going in my best beds...so i have high expectations for all 3. brads black heart on one side, and cynthias black heart on the other side.

i wish i could post a pic., but i will wait till DH is home and can shop for the best digital camera..(he likes doing things for the garden, and i hate shopping)....i guess i'll have to learn to like shopping once we get this sad sac off the ground!...what will i do with all that $? lol

bully, easy for you to say.."don't take it too serious"..
i have had nightmares about sad sac,....Mexican mafia...crashing cars,.. people shooting at me,.. handcuffs,...i'm sure it all lead to incarceration....so this better be good! LOL

As a newly recruited sales rep for Bully Farms ,
I started my seeds early so I can
get a head start on both my "sales trip" ;
AND for the biggest tomato part
of the grow out ~

I've been a proud owner of
4 healthy Sad Sac seedlings
for a few weeks now ; true leaves and all ...
And let me tell you they are buets ~

I know Rosco is curently in the lead with his
1lb. 11 oz. Sad Sac tomato for 2005-2006 ...

So get your seedlings growing America !
"Everyone needs a Sad Sac" ~

Regards,
Tom
"Bully Farms National Sales Rep."

Here is the "bar" for 2005-2006 Sad Sac grow out
(great pic btw Rosco )

and here are 2 from the army selected for photo that will grow up to be big and tall ~

Tom!
you are doing a great job!
i believe no one can be happy....untill they have a sad sac tomato plant!

plant the seed...it takes off like a rocket....it shades all other plants, so that they are almost stunted... it's a giant!

but.. why do i have the feeling your "sales trips" include tropical islands, loose women, and bunches of hooch? LOL

dukerdawg is going to protest your big party....since it's coming out of his portion.
LOL

I'm happy to see a thread here to check on Sad Sac progress. I'm just starting my peppers this weekend. Hope to get the tomato seeds in next week. Still a good foot or two of hard crusty snow on the ground here!

Just starting to get my seeds and things in order. Supposed to snow tomorrow so maybe that'll be a good day to get everything started. I like your labels Bully. I may have to go with something like that this year. Where did you get your labels?

As far as Sadamus Sacamus. I'll be growing one plant of this bad boy. I'm shooting for 3 pounds...

Just started my seeds ....maybe later is better. I will find a place for the best ones somewhere, even if I have to tear out others of lesser importance. I don't have a greenhouse . javascript:emoticon('')

I'm not sure what to make of everyone 'skimming' off the top of my profits(?)

Oh, sure, I know Bully started the thing and is the head honcho, but I am the person who got the big-city-lawyer to draw up the trade mark papers (thanks for the referral Laurel!)

Me thinks I got some mighty face-scrunchin' thinkin' to do.

re: me in another thread:
I'll work for a low base pay
(as I hear thats the going rate) ; lol ;
and just keep 75% of the commish
and send the other 25% for future projects
aka "all you can eat seafood buffets" and
"beer funds" !!!
Who do I send my paper work to ?

__________________________________________

see that ? 25% goes towards
future projects aka payroll ,
beer , boats, dams etc.

Gotta sell it ???!!!???!!! lol ~

Good to see you lot found the 'official site'

Not surprised, seeing as how you all got just about the same spam email from me (note to self, deduct cost of spam letter from Duane's cut)

Here's the thread that started this whole enterprise, for those wondering what the hell we're talking about.
