Default Middle Eastern Radish Varieties?

Since there's a lot of international folks on here, maybe someone can help me. Once in a while I'm able to get these radishes that are just amazing, the name I was told was "Iraqi radish." I can't find anything online about them, whatsoever. They're about the size of a softball, dark red skin with white core, radish flavor but sweeter and not nearly as harsh as standard radishes. Sorry I didn't think to take a picture last time I was able to get one.

Does anyone know what this might be? I'd like seeds since my normal source--a CSA that is a co-op of a bunch of different farmers--doesn't look like it will have a fall/winter season this year and I still want radishes. Yes, I have tried to find the particular farmer I think grows them at local farmers markets, no luck.

Plant a few tops of the ones you like and you can probably get lots of seeds!

I'm thinking that's what I'm going to have to do, provided I can find another. I'm hoping radish guy shows up at some of the farmers markets this fall with radishes. Otherwise I'm SOL on the good radishes.

Big sweet radish sounds good to me! I did some googling and found a little info about a radish called "Middle East Giant" I wonder if that's the one?
Seeds are produced by Wingseed in the Netherlands.

Also some info here:

There are a bunch of different "giant" radish seeds on ebay and amazon, but I didn't see the 'middle east' giant in my search.

Interesting! The description is close but the photo is nothing like it. I may have to buy some seeds and try. Thank you!

I live in the pseudo Middle East here, and I haven't seen a radish like you describe at the vegetable markets. I will look harder next time I am there and inquire of knowledgable gardening friends.
