Default black spots on tomato plant stem

i have a few of these black spots on the stem of a tomato plant that i'm growing in a 5 gal bucket. what you see in the photo is the extent of it. what is this and how should i treat it?

Please see this thread, two threads above yours,for a possible explanation,the last post I did about Alternaria solani. Although I would have suspected that you would also have typical leaf lesions for this pathogen.

Kinda looks like you got neem or another oil on there, then the hot sun cooked it on those spots. I doubt it will amount to much.

Hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like it could just be some kind of physical damage.
