I know there was at least one topic on GW. I think it was discussed alongside Carolyn's favorite Poona Kheera brown cucumbers.

I know that Lemon Cucumber are supposed to be pretty sweet, and that ideally you want to pick them before they turn completely yellow as this means they are mature and will have many large seeds.

The negative opinions I've seen about it have referred to the large number of seeds.

I am growing it this year, will have to get back to you about it.

Lemon cucumbers are sweet tasting and worth growing. They do have large seeds and do not produce as much fruit as regular cukes.

I grew it last year.

It can climb very high. Nice taste, looks good in a salad.

I've grown them the past two years, and I will continue to grow them. They are pretty and yummy, especially if you do not let them get over ripe. I love to make table pickles with them, as you can leave the skins on with no bitter taste whatsoever.

We have grown them the past 3 years...I always pick them small, but friends gave us a bag of baseball size ones, and apsrt from the seeds they stay mild and pleasant...
My least productive type, and I am skipping it this year.

I've grown them for several years. They are very late to begin producing for me. They come in right about the time the cucumber beetles are at their worst.

Default Lemon Cucumber

I've grown them for the last 2 yrs an like them also, I add them to my relish along with other cukes. The seeds can be large, but easy to remove. I won't be growing the this year cuz I have plenty of relish for awhile, but want to plant the PK just to try them out and for salads. 2m2d

Default I grown them taste is fine but they difficult to peel

I have gone lemon cucumbers they produce as well as most varities but I found it took about 5 of them to equal an average slicer and each on takes about as long to peel. I would only grow them again if for some reason I decided to pickle them.

We grew them the last two years and thought they were great.
Don't let them get too big and dark yellow though.

Pulling up this thread.

Have been growin' them since '04 as they have become my
wife's favorite. She finds them "light and refreshing".

I'm more of a pickle person myself and don't really care for
fresh Cukes, though I love growin' them.

They produce early, late and often enough to be real
heirloom winners here. 4 to 6 climbing vines should
serve up an abundance....JJ61

I have vines that are 5 foot tall and not one fruit yet. Tons of male flowers with females just getting started. Meanwhile the boothbys blonde that were planted at the same time have several fruit already.

Does anyone have a picture of what these lemon cucumbers should look like when ready to pick? I only have one so far but it is about the size of a large lemon, with deeper yellow stripes going down the sides. Never grew these before so really not sure when to pick!

Thanks!
