Lengthwise, it is as our prevailing southerly winds blow, but storms blow in from the west. Keeping some of the foliage thinned out will be very important when the storms hit.

I was going to share a song that was stuck in my head all day while working on this project. Then I just noticed Worth's post above, and well, the song has nothing to do with you working on your carb. But it might still make you laugh. I'll post it in the music thread in a few.

I've used this type of setup for a variety of tomatoes. Tie clothesline to the bottom of each plant and then to the top board. You can tie the plants to the clothesline as they grow up or you can wrap the plant around the clothesline as they grow. Probably tying them intermittently will work best to keep them from "sliding" down the clothesline.
