Default Claude Brown's Yellow Giant

Grew Claude Brown's Yellow Giant this year at my Surrogate garden at work. Due to hail damage and the heat wave during fruit set production was limited to these 3 fruit which I picked green and were ripened indoors. Here is what Bill Best Of SMAC (Sustainable Mountain Agriculture Center) had to say about it.

"Claude Brown's Yellow Giant: Seeds of this tomato were given to me by Claude Brown of Pike County, Kentucky more than twenty years ago. He had worked on improving it for decades. An excellent tasting deep-yellow tomato, this is our second year to offer seeds."

For what these tomatoes went through and being ripened indoors the taste was very good. Will give them another shot next year. Seed was given to me by our own Tomatoaddict Ami

I grew KBX this year and it was outstanding. How does Claude Brown's Yellow Giant compare to it, in your opinion?

I have yet to find a yellow variety that compares to KBX. I was the first one to list KBX in the SSE yearbook. When comparing yellow's to KBX it is a fight for second place, as KBX is king of the mountain. Ami

KBX is King of the Mountain and I think it surpasses many of the pink and reds as far as taste. And it is just a really beautiful tomato, especially when it is plated with slices of pink, red and greens. Can't wait until next year; I will be growing more of them!
