Default berry/fruit bearing bushes good in tropical climate

would anyone happen to know any berries that might grow well in the tropics? I live in the Philippines and I am interested in growing berries or fruits......

already got the standard tomatoes, peppers and eggplants started. just looking for more variety.

strawberries can grow in vegas, so that might do well. just gotta look for heat resistant strains.

what else can grow here? =D

Visit your local farm market to see what grows and to pick up growing tips.

The first thing that came to mind was miracle berry, though I see it's not actually a berry
http://www.crfg.org/pubs/ff/miraclefruit.html
but the link at the bottom of that page will take you to a longer list of fruits. The rare fruit growers like to try plants that are marginal for their climate.

Something to think about is if they grow TOO well in the tropics.
You wouldn't wanna get some sort of crazy weed growing there.
This is how we got a lot of the weeds here in the USA.

Just a thought.

Berry-like fruits that would grow where you are include things like jaboticaba, pepino, naranjila, loquat. Raspberries would also stand a good chance--I know blackberries and raspberries are a weed here in Hawaii. You should also consider growing lychees.
