Happy Valentine's Day to all at TV!
Some very impressive lists. I'm just trying to narrow it down, lol! My tentative list (with the hope of eliminating a few) is: NAR Dixiewine Rebel Yell Bulgarian Triumph Dester Moravsky Div George Detsikas Italian Red Biyskaya Roza Momotaro Orange Minsk Daniel Burson Carbon ISPL Spudatula Carbon Copy SunSugar F1 Orange Jazz Cherokee Green Peron Sprayless Green Tiger Jagodka Punta Banda Maglia Rosa Cherry Isis Candy Possibly: Haley's Purple Comet Orange Caprese Barlow Jap Aunt Gertie's Gold Margaret Curtain Owen's Purple Does anyone have experience with Punta Banda and Peron Sprayless in a Northern climate like mine - zone 5b, Montreal? There are a few more I'm toying with, so it continues. It's a -40 degree Celsius day out today. Looking at tomato seeds was comforting! Happy Valentine's Day again, Sharon |

By copying and pasting the russian for the variation Tatiana names, Khlebosolnyi Rozovyi , I found a few russian seed companies that sell seeds for that variety. Google translates to Norwegian for me. Here's a summary in English: "Early, Siberian, oblate pink fruit - 350-600 g., Height - 80 cm., tolerant of varying temperatures, meaty and sweet." It will be interesting to see what you get from your Baker Creek seeds. Steve Last edited by sjamesNorway; February 14, 2016 at 12:54 PM. |

Wow. Isn't it amazing that such large lists as those above still aren't inclusive - that there are many, many varieties of both tomatoes and peppers that aren't on there. There's no end to this hobby and it'll never get boring - no one will ever be able to say "I grew 'em all!".
I like a little heat sometimes but I've got a year-round pot of Maui Purple Peppers for that - they can be added to any dish and they contribute good flavor and real fire in a small package. My garden-grown peppers for 2016 will sweet, mild, or barely-medium hot only: C. annuum: Big Guy Jalapeno Hybrid, Shish!to, Hatch Valley Mild (unknown NuMex Anaheim type), Ljubov Dlan, Gypsy Hybrid. C. baccatum: CAP 1220, Aji Santa Cruz, Aji Norteno C. chinense: Pink Habanero |

Ammazzzing grow out lists, espec. Cole's.
I am going just have 20 something varieties of mater this year. No chili peppers . I had about 20 of them last year. As a result I have enough pods , powder, sauce to last me for years. Even with my 20+ some varieties (~~ 30 plants) I have a lot of work to do. I have yet to start germinating. It will about two months from now to plant out. But I like the anticipation and the thrill of the unknown. Keep On Trucking ! Gardeneer |

Here is a list of what I have started so far. I planned on starting my hot peppers early, followed by sweet peppers a few weeks later, and finally, tomatoes a few weeks after that.
As you can tell by my list, I didn't exactly stick to the plan. 48 Romaine lettuce (these will be grown inside until harvest) 54 jalepeno peppers 36 Anaheim peppers 36 Ancho Poblano peppers 18 long cayenne peppers 18 tobacco peppers 18 Serrano peppers 18 paprika peppers (sorry, I cant remember the variety) 36 broccoli 36 flat dutch cabbage 36 celery (Utah variety) 18 Jimmy Nardello peppers 18 mixed habanero peppers 48 California Wonder bell peppers 48 buttercrunch lettuce 48 TAM mild jalepeno peppers 24 more Cal Wonder Bells 24 purple eggplant Im hoping the broccoli and cabbage will be able to go into the garden in another month. Celery? I don't know, I have never grown it before. all of the lettuce will be moved up to bigger pots and be grown in the house or greenhouse until harvest next weekend, I will try to get the rest of the bell and sweet peppers planted, then I get to wait a few weeks before planting the tomatoes. I got myself into trouble last year, I started all of my tomatoes the same time as I started my peppers. By the time It was warm enough outside to start hardening them off, I had tomatoes 3 feet tall, long and leggy. Hopefully waiting the extra month will be good for them this year.
