Ah Yes, the Jeanine of Madam Jardel's Black and more, and with that British background as well.

How could I not remember you and I'm so glad to see you return, I really am.

Hello again, Jeannine Anne! So happy to see your thread today- I too have been thinking about how long it must be since you posted and wondering how you were doing. Sorry to hear about your husband's decline and that your own health has suffered. Caregiving is so very stressful- please do every thing you can to take care of yourself now.

Oh how delightful to see your post! I had tried many times to make contact with you, as the last I'd heard you were moving. So very glad you are back with us, but saddened to hear of your husband's rapid decline and hope you can now take the time to attend to your own health. Please PM me if you'd like a few new and improved tomato varieties... (or anything else).

Welcome back Jeannine Anne! As you can read by all the lovely comments to your thread, everyone has missed and remembered you! So sorry to hear of your and your husbands recline in health. As others have mentioned, caregiving is indeed stressful and it is important too take care of oneself and try and carve out a bit of time for yourself. Hugs for you, and wishing you the best!

Hi Folks, well thank you for the great wishes of the last post, couldn't answer.. but more changes

My husband is now permanently in a care facility, it s very hard but I am just starting to accept it and try to get back a bit of the old me.

I have actually sowed seeds, tomatoes etc, cleaned out the greenhouse and made some growing plans.

I don't have the space I used to have but enough I can play in the dirt a bit.

So I am off to read as many old posts as I can and try to climb back in the group.

Made a good start by sowing tomatoes, more varieties than I have room for of course but I didn't expect me very ancient seeds to do as well as they did..bless their little hearts.

Thanks again you are a great bunch as usual.

Do you need some fresh seed? I have some of several varieties I can share with you - generous folks here have helped me re-start this year too.

Theres something about seeds, especially old ones waking up and springing to life that fills me with hope. I wish you a great season.

Thank you all again. Sun City you are so right about the old seeds waking up, that has given me a lot of joy.

Imp, thank you so much for the offer but I have tons of seeds and I wanted to give them a chance.

You and I are it seems are in a similar boat, not the same, but similar so I truly appreciate you taking the time to help me. Take care of you too. XX

I have been getting seed catalogues and oh dear how easy to get carried away, but I have been good. I made a decision to try to get some of my old seed going and so far it is going well/ I had a jiffy pot with what I think was Giant Italian Piriform pop yesterday, just one seed has come though but they were 13 years old. I can't remember just what but a little bell in my head is telling me there was some mix up about this one years ago ???? I will have to go and try to find it.

Problem is I have very little space now since I moved and my biggest growing beds are in a part shaded to shaded area. The tomatoes are OK as I have a greenhouse in full sun, it will grow as many toms, cukes and peppers as I will need, but the tempatation to grow loads of varieties never goes away. Anyway the important thing is I am doing it.

There is something theraputic about growing plants.

And, I recall, you have grown a Fava bean or two before, LOL!

All we all can do is step forward and hope there is no manure we didn't intend to be there.
