What a wonderful looking tomato, and it sounds prolific as well. Hope to grow it one day!

I'm growing two plants this year, and will post results later on. They just got planted in the garden about 10 days ago.

Click for Larger Size

The picture is about a week old; plants are already a bit larger. No fruitset yet. C'mon heat and sun! I've had a LOT of overcast days here for the last few weeks.

Tom,

I wanted to mention that four of the five seeds I started sprouted within 5 days. They are now sturdy little plants about 8 inches high and are ready for planting out. Unfortunately our weather went nuts and we've had below freezing temps for a few days So they're in a nice warm sunny spot by a southwest window....rarin' to go!!!!

I can't wait. If all goes well I plan to take samples to Tomatopalooza this summer

Weather is less than desirable...getting heavy rains right now. Next ten day weather report shows highs in the 40's for early next week and more rain . I guess I should not complain about the moisture...but sure would like it to warm up a bit. I fear that we will go from this straight into summer heat and never have a nice warm spring. Kids so desperately want to play outside...it's been a long winter.

My cukes and zukes are growing great in my neighbors greenhouse...so much so that I fear they may get too big before I can get them in the garden.

I don't see putting anything in the garden till early May...and even this may be optimistic if this crazy weather holds any longer.

If I recollect, (it's been a while!), he had that chin even before Bluto let him have it!

Well I finally have something to say. I started all my tomato seeds (9 varieties) on 4/7 and most varieties germinated well. Do you see where this is going?
.
Out of 10 TYW seeds I got just 2 to germinate and grow leaves, 1 was just a stalk. But bad as that is, Prue, which I usually have good luck with tho it may take 10-14 days to germinate, STILL has not produced 1 plant (as of this morning) and this is from 2004 seeds. Jeesh!
.
So last Saturday I started another 6 pack. In 3 cells I have TYW, 3 seeds per cell. In the other 3 cells is Prue, also with 3 seeds per cell.
.
Both sets of seeds started on 4/7 and 4/14 sat on the kitchen table, received the same amount of moisture, same temps (warm, a constant 70-78 degrees, heating with wood is so cozy!) yet the seeds I started last Saturday 4/14 were coming up on Thursday 4/19. I have 6-8 of each variety now.
.
Is TYW giving people germination problems? It is odd that Prue did so poorly too yet the 2nd set of both seeds did so well so quickly.
.
Looking forwards to trying TYW in about 100 days from today.
.
