My wife once had the brilliant idea to mix cayenne pepper powder with the bird seed to slow the squirrels down. They seemed to enjoy the TexMex bird seed.

I'm battling the tick infested squirrels at the moment. Driving the pups looney.
Soon the birds will be fine and I'll stop the feed but the woodpeckers are so enjoying the
suet right now.

The chili oil recipe I linked is really good. Much cheaper than buying. Adjustable to your taste.
Mine gained some heat but at the table a personal choice to add a spoonful or a drip.

Next batch I need to dial back the heat and add some more mild peppers to the mix.

My three favorite condiments at the moment made during the last snow storms...
Pickled ★★★★ake, pickled mustard seed, and the chili oil.

Those look great, but I'm not sure about the pickled mustard. Seems like that could be an acquired taste not intended for the faint of heart. I'm not really a fan of prepared mustard like French's. I do keep grainy mustard with horse radish on hand for use with a few meats and as a component of a spicy rub.

Pickled mustard seed is very mild. It is more like a mustard jam. No spice or mustard flavor...
(well very mild mustard scent/flavor)
Pops like caviar...red-neck caviar. Yellow seed is mild. Brown seed I heat, soak, heat rinse,
soak 6 time to remove the bitterness....

Does not taste like any deli mustard or any high end over-priced mustard. Fantastic on steak like
tonight! With the mushrooms and chili oil drips.

Ghost pepper chili oil mixed in strawberry ice cream would shock the devil out of someone.
