Default Park's Beefy Boy?

Anyone here grown this a couple of times?

It is listed as an ISI variety, but I doubt from descriptions that I've read if it is as compact as Better Bush. (?) Thought about giving it a try in an EarthBox, so for me, more compact varieties work out better. I've grown varieties from the Dwarf Project, but have not yet found a nice, large red tomato that I really like, yet. So I'm still looking. I am growing "Big League" this year. It is listed as a (very compact) indeterminate, so it is in the same "ball park."

Did you ever try this tomato? Cannot find out much about it but must be pretty good as it is sold out at the only two places that sell it, Park and Totally Tomato.

70 days from setting out transplants. ISI (indeterminate short-internode). Everything about Beefy Boy is larger-than-life, from its succulent flavor to its generous yields! Bred specifically for maximum flavor, the taste is sweet yet meaty, with more solids and less gel than other varieties, despite its walloping 12- to 16-ounce size.

A really great tomato. I find it a really tasty hybrid, for me much better than Big Beef.

(snip...)

Yes, I grew it in an EarthBox. It was an OK tomato and the plant was smaller than a typical IND. But OTOH, for me it was nothing special, and didn't yield many tomatoes. Usually (for me), a red tomato tastes like a red tomato. I look mostly at how the plants tolerate Septoria. Beefy Boy was very average in that regard. Looks to still be available at Urban Farmer and Reimer. (I've never bought from Urban Farmer, but unlike some others here, have not had any issues with Reimer.)

This season I'm growing Damsel -- another supposedly smaller plant variety. Anyway, I'm a sucker for pink and orange tomatoes!

Thanks, I think I might give Beefy Boy a try next year. Always order something from Park every year anyway.

While at Park's consider Nectar F1, which is a really awesome cherry. It is as sweet as a muskmelon.
