Just curious on the ones that did not turn out blue--were your seedlings blue-stemmed from the beginning? Because I was told, when I got the seeds, to only grow out the ones w/ blue stems, and to discard the normal-looking green ones. Out of 5 I sowed, only 2 were blue.

They are very prolific, but not that great tasting, to me or anyone else who tasted them here. But I plan on growing it again, the fruits are pretty and look great on a plate. I used them as a "filler" in salsa and other dishes when I did not have enough tomatoes and they were fine.

That's strange. Mine tasted very good. A favorite with my customers.

In my 2013 Project thread you can see some of the variation I got from Shadow Boxing this year. I got several that were Ok tasting, quite a few that were pretty but only two out of 18 plants were ones I felt like continuing to grow out.

In 2012 I grew out 36 of Tom Wagner’s “Shadow Boxing”. All produced the oval fruits except for one which was round. Some of the ovals ones were pointed and some were more classical plum shaped. I have continued to grow out the round “Shadow Boxing” and have been selecting for the largest size round fruits. This year one has lost its shadow.
