Default Russian Tomato Varieties

My Russian son in law and his family were visiting relatives last Summer in Kazan.

On their return they gave me four varieties of tomato seeds that came from a Russian seed distributor. The websites for this distributor are www.sibsad-nsk.ru and www.alilita.ru

Translated the varieties are Early King
Potato Pink (Kartofelnyi Malinovyi)

Vologodsky Harvest
AM Champion

First two are on Tania's database. Other two are not. I plan to start these next month and will include in the next MMMM swap if successful. If anyone in the US or Europe has information on V.H. and A.C. would appreciate their input.

Here are original names for your tomato varieties:
Korol Rannikh (=The King of Earlies)
Kartofelnyi Malinovyi (=Pink PL)
Vologodskiy Urozhainyi (=Prolific from Vologda) - mid-early, det. (about 70-100cm high) bushy plant with a high yield of red oblate 200-400 g fruit, desease tolerant, very good flavour. Russian var. from Vologda city. Distributed by Sibirskiy Sad.

EM-Champion - a Siberian early variety with a large red heart shaped fruit.

Distributed by Sibirskiy Sad.

All these varieties are very good)

Check and be sure it's not EM Champion?

Will be interesting to try these since they are not widely known in the U.S.

I've grown EM Champion for the past 3 years - Got it from Tania, it is a wonderful tomato and one of my favorites. Grows well in Mississippi so should do good for you in NC/SC.
