Default Freezing broccoli

Is there a good way to freeze broccoli so when you thaw it out it isn't a mushy mess?

do you blanch it first?
Ive blanced it with steam and that seems to work well.

Steam works well to blanch it. Chill it real quick in icy brine.

Blanch them, immediately plunge into an ice bath. Dry it off as best you can and freeze.

And don't let it thaw before steam cooking it. Out of the freezer and right into the steaming pot. The thawing makes it mushy.
