Default 2 Indeterminates in 1.9 Cubic Ft?

I've been vegetable gardening for many years. I usually have great success with my conventional gardening. Not so much with containers though. Having discovered this site and self watering containers I'm going to try a couple of containers again. Can I get 2 indeterminates in this almost 2 cu.ft. container or only 1?
Dimensions are 20" left to right, 13"front to back and 13" deep.

Thanks,

2 cubic feet equates to just under 15 gallons. The EarthTainer, which uses a 31-gallon tub, recommends planting two indeterminate tomato plants in it. So using that, I would recommend just a single plant. Although I and many others have had success using containers 5 gallons and even smaller - but this amount of space will work better for smaller determinate, bush or dwarf varieties.

I can do it, you can too. Depending on the variety, though, they may not get over 6-8 ft tall.

And use good landscape fabric on the bottom to keep the roots out of the reservoir.

The ones I made are a similar size to yours. Mine have a six gallon water reservoir and 2 Better Boys or similar will use over 5 gallons of water every 24 hours once they get up to size. Four determinants such as Sophie's Choice will do well in them also. Each of the Better Boys produced 11 pounds of tomatoes growing in them. I hope you have a self waterer or aren't going away for a few days. Claud
