Default anyone have a source for ornamental alliums?

I have a neighbor down the street who planted some alliums. Bright purple ones. I am going to have to ask her if they are heirlooms or not. She ordered them on-line.

They are beautiful and I would love to get some to plant for next year. Another bonus I've noticed is that the honey bees spend a lot of time working the flowers.

Do they grow from bulbs like garlic, or seeds? Any sources to check into would be appreciated.

Thanks. maryinpnw

Yes they grow from bulbs. Never planted them myself, but have seen them for many years in the Brecks and Dutch Gardens bulb catalogs.
