Default Should I do it as well?

My seedlings are growing up fast. They're in 4" pots and are 8 inches tall currently. Was thinking about planting some this coming Tuesday. Our last frost date is March 7th I believe. The past month has been in the mid 70's everyday and all next week looks like mid 60's with lows around 43 each night. 95% of the days will be pure sun.

Is it time to toss em in the ground? Also what height will they grow too big for those pots?

They can get almost twice that big.

MarcH, I grew an extra of each variety just so I could attempt early planting. Just in case.

I see you're in/near Vegas - Planting early, really is a toss of the dice.

Well I think I have a few too many plants so I'll probably give the dice a roll. Low 40s at night are manageable right?

You can transplant the extras in 2 liter soda bottles as a backup. Take the transplants outside and bring them back in at night when it is cold as a backup in case you get late freeze. When they are that big at transplant , use the trench method for planting. You will have amazing results.

Take the soil's temperature. Plants can handle cool nights if the soil has had time to warm up.

I planted 3 weeks early last year and only lost 250 plants. Go for it. Claud

Around my LFD I monitor long term (10 days) forecasts closely. and act accordingly. I might even plant few days ahead of it in case of clement weather.
At any event, have to be prepared to protect my plants should there be surprises. And of course , I plant then just a portion of my seedlings/plants.
When you have a short season, time is of essence. That should not be a problem in Cali but it is in south Florida, West Texas, ..And up north we have different short season to deal with
