Default A Currant Affair

One Sara's Galapagos in a sunny position, fruits left to ripen evenly, which they eventually do with great holding power. And look at what you get! So many possibilities with this candy from quick sauted pasta to popper salsas. That's a wrap from me. Best, Grubs.

BTW: There are 1.4kg of SGs equating to 3lb of them, minus a lot of grazing throughout the season.

I see you picked them truss and all.
That would make for easier picking.
I would say your currant situation is a little overwhelming.

So many to pick so few fingers.

Yes, snipped the whole truss. Easy game anyone can play. And harvest
Family eating trusses for snacks.

I'm about to bake some trusses with herbs, EVOO, and salt flakes, to garnish roasted meats. Should be good.

Any other ideas?

My wife is forbidding me from growing currants ever again! Those things drove us crazy last year! We'd pick and pick and pick them and end up with two handfuls and then would have to pick all the tops off before eating them. Ping Pong ball sized or bigger from now on!

They should work great for paint-ball guns.

Organic ammunition !

He he he.

We made a great lentil salad. The idea was to plant something that the rug rats, the locusts of various ages, can strip upon each visit to their uncle's house.

Our little girl Summer loves them too. We're down to half now. Worth growing one, I reckon, in an accessible possie for visitors to pluck and suck.
