Default Bean seed color?

Ok..So I grew the Speckled greasy bean and all of the seeds are a cream color splashed with tan. But.....a very small percent had a varigated pod (green w/ purple stripes) and the seeds are dark blue. An even smaller percent have completely tan seeds. I seperated those variations from the normal seeds. So my question is, why are some a different color and if I plant the blue and tan ones next season will I get beans with all blue seeds and all tan seeds?

I don't know a lot about this, but it is a known phenomenon. I had some correspondence with Tomaddict (I think it was) about this, but can't find it right now. I will keep looking.

Ruth,

If it was about some varieties sometimes having reverse coloration, that was from me.

Terry,

If the dark blue ones were shelled before being fully mature or dry, my guess is that their real color, if given the time to fully mature and dry, might be black.
