24 watts of LED is not very much light. It's useful for seedlings, but I don't think it would make much fruit.

Hi...Would you please tell me what watts would make a difference ...The Lights I was looking at were cheap so one would have to have at least 10 of them ....there are so many LED's now one gets confused ....

Its very quiet here..The wind has gone ..at least for a while so I have to get up and finish the roof while I can...So many things to do...Thanks Ron

If that LED draws 25 watts it is putting out a ton of equivalent watts compared to an incandescent bulb.
This is from Ron's question.
6500K 24W 1800LM....LED.
That 1800 LM stands for lumens.
That is a lot of light so this tells me that it is what the LED draws as in 25 watts.

I just pulled out an LED light from my hallway.
It says 9.5 watts 120 VAC at 800 lumens 2700K.
This bulb is the equivalent to a 60 watt incandescent bulb that gives off 800 lumens.

Ron what the LED is is about the equivalent of a little more than a 100 watt bulb.
This is fine with a long string or tube or bank of them but not so good as one by its self unless you have one plant and then it will outgrow the light.
You need a minimum of 50 watts per square foot 100 way better.
The they have to be close.
The big boys run several 1000 watts or more at a distance to make up for the distance.
Like the HID and HP sodium lights.
Remember lumens are a visible light for people but it is the only way we can buy lights for plants that dont see these lumens.
Because lumens are measured in a spectrum plants dont really need.
Then you have the problem of manufactures selling lamps either by the watts they draw or by the equivalent of an incandescent wattage so folks can get what they need.
You simply cant go down and buy an LED that draws 100 watts to replace an incandescent that draws 100 watts it would run you out of the house.

Some time ago I was told here you cant measuer output by watts this simply isn't so.
You can measuer usage and output by watts.

I have heard all to often people say that the power of the sun is limitless and we could have unlimited power.
This simply isn't true.
We have so many square feet on our planet and that is all the amount of sunlight you can convert to energy.
Not against solar power but it is NOT limitless.

And regarding solar potential, the limit is our supply of precious metals to make all the solar panels. As soon as asteroid mining tows home a chunk of (formerly) precious metal the size of Mount Everest, then solar really will be unlimited.

And to think I got twice as much light (1200 watts) at less than one tenth the cost and only used 288 watts.
A person would have to be smoking pot to buy that thing.

Hi..Yes thats what I thought ...but I will buy a few first....just to see the light they emit and that they do not fall to pieces like the 6 + 1 E27 fittings I bought .......Cheers ron
