That is an unusual tomato fruit, similar to what we call the Reisetomate or Voyager. Curious!

Se had a visit to Suriname.We don't know now which variety she aimed to illustrate.It seems it's a domesticated S. lycopersicum, an edible one.However in her era tomatoes were grown by europeans as ornamentals rather than culinary vegetables.Tomatoes in the bottom of picture reminded me deeply ribbed varieties though the upper one is oddly round!
