Bully,

Great shot of the different colors. I have to ask though, did you play 4 innings with that green one before the picture?

Default Rainbow.

Nice colours there. Like is like a bof of heirlooms.

How is Mule Team? It was stubborn last year, few fruits, unremarkable flavo(u)r. But that particular patch was off.

Nice colours there. Like is like a box of heirlooms.

BTW: How is Mule Team?

It was stubborn last year, few fruits, unremarkable flavor. But that particular patch was off from the word go. Something wrong with the soil.

It got an A+ plus spot from me and it was...stubborn, few fruits, unremarkable flavour.

I'm really thinking of cutting back on the varieties next year and going with a handful of good known producers, like Sioux, taxi, miam nipa, grandpa willie..say 10 plants like that..leave space for 10 new ones...then have 40 Brandywine Sudduth's

I've grown a lot of different varieties over the last few years and most have been decent, next year I want a lot of my favorites. The real rippers!

The real rippers! Yee ha. You are speaking my lingo.

Interestingly, Bully, I have never tried: Sioux, taxi, miam nipa, grandpa willie... have seeds for the latter.

So I will add the last one to this year's growlist.

But I know how you feel about the newchums failing to live up to the hype. And it irks me when you put in the effort and that plant, say Marianna's Peace, gives you two pink fruits that taste great. Much worse when some other gives two gnarled things that taste terrible.

I think there's a lot of cross stuff out there. Mortgage Lifter was a dud for me too. If I were Radiator Charlie banking my hopes on that mater I'd be a gypsy.

Did my green one fail miserably? Grub, thinking about eating a whole lobster out of sympathy.
