Default First tomaters Ctex in Earthbox

I bought these jd's special ctex plants from a nursery, they were already 3.5 inches above the containers. I will not be planting much this year, but I wanted to try these. I think I'm going to try mortgage lifter and another big hybrid as well. Maybe a total of 6 to 7 plants.

Ever try tomatoes and green olives, just cut tomato into chunks and eat each chunk with a green olive. Best thing since peanut butter and jelly!

JD's is a wonderful variety, performed well for me this last fall under less than ideal conditions. Good luck with your growing!

They do seem rather eager to flower. I started one early
in the year, and it was not doing too well in kind of an
ad hoc container mix of different stuff I had sitting
around. I repotted it a couple of times in different mixes
until it seemed satisfied with the container mix, and I
took a cutting when it got to be about 12-14" and put
that in water. The original plant kept growing, and
it now has 3 nice branches growing from the main
stem.

The cutting, however, was just sitting there, droopy, doing
nothing. There was another one from a different cultivar
right next to it that was growing robust-looking little roots
from the stem, but every time I looked at the JD's, it looked
more like it was going to die than grow roots. I tryed spraying
it with a mild dose of MG Blossom Booster to give it a little
nutrition. No response.

Finally I noticed this flower cluster between the growing tip
and the branch below it, with one big bud on it that looked
like it was about to open. None of the other plants that
I had started at the same time had flowers yet, even though
they have comparable DTMs to JD's. I cut the flower cluster
off, and it perked right up and started growing roots.
