Default Midwest Tomato Festival 2012

Has a date been set for this year's Tomato Festival in Lincoln?

I have been getting some tomatoes, enough that I was able to make 5-6 quarts of tomato sauce around the end of July. Not many blooms and little if any new fruit set during the hot month of July, but I'm starting to see some blooms and new fruit now that it has been getting cooler in the evenings.

I may be able to bring some Amish Paste and Italian Heirloom tomatoes, both new varieties for us this year. My Mortgage Lifters and Brandywine plants have been producing some really grotesque shaped fruit.

I also have a few tomatoes, but the harvest has been pretty thin this year. Maybe with the cooler weather there will be something available. Some of the Lincoln members are going to decide the dates. I say we gather no matter how many tomatoes we have just to get together. With our group the tomato tasting is almost secondary. I want to see how big Iris is getting. She must be three by now.
