Didn't answer the poll as I have never raised any of the three listed LOL. For me, black Krim, Danial Burson, Neves Azorean Red, even a Ponderosa Pink, anything with a good somewhat acid taste and a punch of flavor to balance the bacon. Really too many to list for sandwich making purposes.

I don't have any of those started this year.

I am asking because my friend can only grow one and I will give her one I have started. She only wants to make sandwiches, no salads, no sauce. So that's why I didn't have an 'other' answer.

Any homegrown tomato!

When all I had were cherry tomatoes early in the season, I made tomato sandwiches with cherry tomatoes!

I think the math doesn't work out on your poll. According to it, you have 167% of the results currently.

I voted for New Big Dwarf because it is red and that is what you use on a sandwich.

Actually, yes, you are right! If it is home grown and tasty, good on a sandwich, no matter what - beefsteak, saladette, cherry, black, GWR, yellow, orange, red or pink, if that is wht you have and like, good!

Worth, NBD is pink. But my sister thinks the same way: if red tomatoes were good enough for Jesus, they're good enough for her. (I snuck a NBD in on her this year; see if she complains.)

I will have probably Big Beef. I liked Dwarf Purple Heart. But I am not growing it this year.
On the question of pink and red.
The difference is skin deep.literally.there is no difference when sliced.

Ok, so I went with NBD. I gave a purple heart to another friend who can also only have one but doesn't just make sandwiches.

I've never trialed any of the three. But on color alone it would have to be New Big Dwarf. The other two sound like typical black tomatoes, that in my garden taste like....welll, if you go find the thread on Elbonian Mud ball, I give a detailed description.
