Default Lovely flowers, Nicolas

I see you have some of the same flowers that we have in our nurseries where I live. The pansies (pensamientos) and cyclmen (ciclamen) can be grown outdoors all winter here. Cyclamen is expensive here. I see a nice selection of miniature roses also. I have a pointsettia (flor de Pascua) that is from Christmas 2017. It is just starting to get it's red leaves.

Default Knockout roses

I agree with Worth that Knockout roses are carefree. The can tolerate brutal sun. They are all over the Houston area and if the weather is mild in the winter, you will have blooms.

Did you know the poinsettias turn red due to long night/dark hours?
By knowing this you can ((force)) them any time of the year.
Just dont interrupt the dark hours.

I can "force" them to turn red? That sounds mean.

Worth

I used this one 90% of the time (in class). You can tell by the wear and tear.

I had drafting in jr high school. I was genuinely awful at it
I was usually a good student, but not in that subject.

I think the school system I went to has eliminated all the vocational classes. We can't waste time teaching skills like how to fix a broken lawn mower, because it will never be covered on standardized tests.

I hear ya. I watch DH, who can fix anything because his dad taught him - compared to our nephews and nieces who barely know what a lawnmower is.

Here is a pictuer of a measuring machine made by Joseph Whitworth.
His first one was made in 1840.
This contraption by way of worm drives and gears measures to the millionth of an inch.
Yes measuring a millionth of an inch was possible in the 1800's.

Worth, the actual measuring wasn't that difficult; but how did it display the reading?

Looks like scales around the circumference of the wheels.
